Painting through Parkinson's

Paul on the rogue fighting a tough steelhead.

painting and parkinson's Disease

I was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease in 2016. It started with a tremor in my right side and slowly got worse. I started taking meds after about a year or so and initially found relief. But the "on" periods got shorter and the dosages got larger and more frequent so in early 2023 I elected to have DBS (deep brain stimulation) surgery. It has helped tremendously. As my wife says, "Parkinson's is a snowflake disease". It is unique to everyone. There are many different symptoms, the DBS almost completely controls my tremor which has allowed me to continue painting.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Parkinson’s research for every painting sold.
